Hot Line Tools Training

A Training Programme for Ceylon Electricity Board on Live Line Maintenance Tools was successfully completed in 2016 on a 220kV/132kV Transmission Line at Biyagama & New Chilaw GSS. Under this programme, 8 gangs which consisted of approximately 100 participants from Transmission Asset Management Division and Transmission Operations and Maintenance Division of Ceylon Electricity Board were trained for two weeks.

The training was conducted by OLEX along with M/s. Madhav Engineers (Pvt) Ltd., who is fully certified by the manufacturer M/s.Terex Ritz – Brazil.

Further this was followed up by few mini workshops and technical presentations for selected Engineers, Electrical Superintendents and field staff.

MV ABC Training


A Training Programme was carried out on Installation, Commissioning and Maintenance of Medium Voltage Aerial Bundled Cables (ABC), for Ceylon Electricity Board Engineers, Electrical Superintendents and field staff for two weeks in the Castlereigh Training School in 2017. It was performed by technical specialists from M/s. Foremost Cable Accessories– Malaysia using the equipment provided by M/s. Nexans – Australia and Belgium.

This was followed by various project installations, Site supports at Monaragala, Kurunegala, Galle, Katharagama and Puttalam.


A tender floated by Distribution Division 3 of Ceylon Electricity Board for ABC Accessories and Training at supplier’s country was awarded to OLEX in.  Group of three Engineers and two Electrical Superintendents were given the opportunity to enhance their knowledge on entire MV ABC system. The programme went on for two weeks with classroom, hands on experience and field visits in Malaysia

Training on MV Cable Accessories

A Training Programme on Medium Voltage Cable and Accessories was carried out for Ceylon Electricity Board Engineers,  Electrical Superintendents and field staff from 30th October to 3rd November 2023 at the main auditorium of Transmission Construction Projects Office and Wagawatta Grid Substation Construction site. It was organized by OLEX Projects (Pvt) Ltd and conducted by the technical specialist Mr. Suppiah Pakianathan from Malaysia. This training was organized as two days classroom sessions and three days hands on training at the site.  CEB officials were able to get hands on training on installation of PFISTERER Plugin type CONNEX Size 3 indoor terminations and Nexans Heat Shrinkable Outdoor Terminations.
It was a great opportunity to CEB officials to discuss about failures in the network and solutions and precautions to be taken.
